Beautifying downtown Kingston

Helping Hands landscapers laying sod while PSE workers install a new transformer.

June 26--The major work on the Port's new park on Washington Blvd. is nearing completion according to job's contractor, Vet Industrial.

Today, Puget Sound Energy is installing a new transformer. At the same time, workers from Helping Hands are laying turf for the new lawn. The grass should be done tomorrow, completing the landscaping.

No one should walk on the new grass for several weeks to a month. So, the construction fence will stay up until the official ribbon-cutting early in August.

Meanwhile, just up the street KItsap County maintenance workers are trimming the trees and cleaning the median along State Highway 104.

The historic village area is going to look beautiful for the Fourth of July!
