Crowning Touch





Rick Lanning of Homeland Construction installs the finishing touch: a copper blue heron weather vane, atop the gazebo in the Port's new park on Washington. Blvd. Homeland Construction is a subcontractor of VET Industrial which is managing the project.

July 25 2018--This morning, workers installed a weather vane, complete with a copper sculpture of a blue heron, atop the gazebo in the Port's new park on Washington Blvd. Except for signage, the new park is complete. Plans call for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in mid-August, once the grass turf can be walked on.


Protecting and celebrating nature is an important park of the Port's mission. A heron also appears on the new 'Port of Kingston' sign that welcomes guests to the marina.The Port currently offers more marine waterfront green space than any other Kitsap public port.
