Fast Ferry Update--Breaking News

10 a.m. July 16--Workers and equipment from Foss Maritime are in Kingston, preparing the fast ferry loading barge to be moved to dry dock in Seattle tomorrow. The process will involve cutting the barge free from the pilings and suspending the steel gangway from the adjacent pilings. The gangway ran between the barge and the dock.

All of the shore power and wiring to the barge was disconnected last Friday.

If all goes as planned, the renovated barge will return in two months.
